After the first week of school; students are meeting new friends, getting into the swing of homework, and learning new material. Students did their first problem solving exercise and attempted to determine how thick a piece of aluminum foil was while using an ordinary ruler. As an entire school we began our exploration of the story of Phineus Gage and what it means to be lucky and unlucky at the same time and learned about the first set of Thinking Maps that will serve as school wide resources. This week, students will take a quick tour of the Edison State College campus and have their first classroom session on study skills and dual enrollment. As families and students get “back in the swing” of school, we remain excited about getting to know the students and helping to shape their lives.
Edison Collegiate High School – Lee Campus is a public charter high school with an open enrollment policy. All Edison Collegiate High students follow an honors level curriculum, providing students with the opportunity to graduate with an associate degree and high school diploma simultaneously. We look forward to helping our inaugural class succeed each day and in life.
